Web Site Development Training

There are many reasons why someone wants to put together a web site. To sell products, services, ideas, make a blog, talk about world news, share family pictures, recipies, patterns, reviews, hobbies, kids crafts, work from home, sell homes, self-improvement tips....

Remember the movie where a farmer hears a voice, "Build it and they will come." So he builds a baseball field, and soon players from the past start arriving. Then the word spreads, and people from everywhere start coming to watch the game. "Build it and they will come."

Many people think just Building a web site will automatically bring thousands of visitors. Just throw together some content about what you think is important, and "Katie bar the doors", suddenly you'll have to put a "No Vacancy" sign out because there's no more room to fit all the people coming to your site.

When you do a search on the search engines, you'll see description somewhere on the page identifying how many web sites that search engine found relating to the keywords you entered. On page One of the search results, you'll see something like:

About 86,600,000 results found. Each page has approximately 10 results, so guess how many pages you have to go through to reach the end. Someone has to be at the end. Do you think anyone is going to work their way back to the last site just to see all the results? Would you? Most people don't make it past page 3 of the results, we just don't have the time anymore, and you don't want to the caboose of the train.

So if your page can't be found on the first few pages, it may never be seen by human eyes, except for yours, and your closest relatives. If you built the site to earn some income, and you're relatives aren't buying, you've got a problem.

So let's learn some of the basics about how a web site can work its way up in the results, and get some more traffic coming.
